In Memory of
U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Conde, South Dakota
Spink County

February 22, 1930 – June 13, 1952
Died in a Car Accident in Florida

Robert J. Bebo was born February 22, 1930, at Conde, South Dakota to John and Alphena Bebo. He had three brothers: Richard, Ronald, and Gary, and a sister, Joyce. Robert went to school in Conde and graduated from high school there.

After his graduation, Robert entered the Air Force and served in Korea for two years during the war. After he returned from overseas duty, Robert had a furlough home to the Ashton and Mellette areas and then returned to duty at Elgin Field in Florida while he awaited his discharge from the Air Force. He was engaged to be married to Phyllis Beckwith of Aberdeen.

On June 13, 1952, Staff Sergeant Robert J. Bebo was killed in a car accident in Florida. His body was returned to South Dakota and he was buried with military honors at the Mellette cemetery on June 19, 1952, just a month before he was to be married.

I will remember the service and sacrifice of Robert J. Bebo.
